Ο ηθοποιός βρίσκεται μπροστά στον πιο ιδιαίτερο ρόλο της καριέρας του: στη νέα παράσταση «Νυξ» αφηγείται περίεργες ιστορίες, βασισμένες σε ένα αναπάντεχο μείγμα κειμένων του Κουτρουμπούση και του Κορτάσαρ.

Αυτό που με καυλώνει είναι ότι δεν θα δούνε Νιάρρο,
θα δουν κάτι πολύ κουλό.

Η πορεία του Γιάννη Νιάρρου στο ελληνικό θέατρο είναι τόσο εντυπωσιακή που θα μπορούσε να συνεχίσει να κάνει επιτυχίες καταφεύγοντας σε κλασικά έργα (πάντα υπάρχει ένας τρόπος να τα ξαναδείς) ή να συνεχίσει τον δρόμο που του άνοιξε το «Σπιρτόκουτο», σκηνοθετώντας μιούζικαλ. Αντί γι’ αυτά, προτίμησε να ρισκάρει και να φτιάξει μια παράσταση που δεν μοιάζει με καμία άλλη που έχει παίξει και, απ’ ό,τι δείχνουν οι πρόβες, δεν μοιάζει και με τίποτε άλλο που έχεις δει στη σκηνή.
